Bargi boat tragedy: How the Narmada cruise had all the makings of a death trap
Rescue teams have widened the search in Bargi reservoir as four remain missing. The captain has described how weather turned within minutes during the cruise.

In a tragic incident, a man and son were burnt to death after being trapped inside their car, as the vehicle’s CNG cylinder burst and caught fire after the car collided with a parked vehicle in Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh in the wee hours of Monday.
According to the police, the mishap occurred at around 3 am on the Seoni road under the jurisdiction of the Kundipura police station.

According to police station in-charge Mahendra Bhagat, the deceased were identified as Amit Singh (61), and his 22-year-old son Arun. They were residents of Parasia-Dighawani and had gone to their native village in Uttar Pradesh.

They met with the fatal mishap while on their way back home. Arun was on the car’s driver seat.
Preliminary investigations suggested that Arun might have dozed off, resulting in the car going out of control. It first hit a divider and then rammed into a parked Bolero jeep.
Their car was fitted with a CNG cylinder, which burst and caught fire immediately after the collision. The father-son duo was trapped inside the car and were charred to death by the time police and local villagers could douse the flames.
Their bodies were later sent for post-mortem.
